A burial ground where over 170,000 people have been laid to rest, the most famous being Karl Marx. It is divided into two halves: the East Cemetery (where Marx is) and West Cemetery.
Insider Tip
If you’re doing a self-guided visit as opposed to an organized tour, buy a West Cemetery ticket. This includes entrance to the East Cemetery in the price. Note that the catacombs can only be accessed by those on a guided tour.
