GENERAL INFORMATION

Connecting the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede in Northern Ireland, this rope bridge was originally constructed by salmon fishermen over two hundred years ago, so they wouldn’t have to rely on boats for the short crossing of the sea.

Insider Tip

The bridge is a mile from the parking lot, so make sure you purchase a ticket from the parking lot before you head over - you won’t be able to purchase one once you are in line. Since the bridge is one way, there could be a long wait to cross both ways. If you are short on time, go directly to the bridge to see that first, then take your time exploring after.

Address: Rope Bridge, Ballycastle, Northern Ireland BT54 6LS
